Charles Jean Baptiste Collin-Mezin (1841-1923) started his career working for his father but then set up his shop in rue Faubourg-Poissonniere, Paris in 1868. He copied Stradivarius, Amati and Guarneri models and won several awards for his work. This beautiful example was made in 1882 and is in excellent condition. This instrument is signed by the maker inside. It makes a sweet, clean sound and needs a player to put lots of notes through it as it hasnt been played much in 25 years.
