Following our successful performance at Tempo Rubato, Brunswick, in 2025, we repeated the event in Cape Paterson on the March 2026 long weekend. Generously hosted by Lorraine and Neil Perry, over 40 people were treated to a performance of a range of music from across the life course of this amazing instrument. Our musical program was interspersed with the story of the violin's journey through the hands of a range of players including a 14 year old child prodigy Bronislav Huberman, a musical thief Julius Altman, Norbert Brainen of the Amadeus Quartet and finally to Joshua Bell its’ current custodian. The audience enthusiastically embraced not only this story but those associated with the instruments played by the ensemble each of whom described the personal significance and musical benefits of having access to such instruments. These conversations continued long after the music over a glass of wine and some delicious food.
The event further confirmed to us the joy of bringing our community together to share the amazing stories that lie behind these lovely instruments and the music they make.
Our tour continues on the 22nd March in Hawthorn. This is another private event for keen lovers of classical music.
