Richard Duke 18C Violin

Richard Duke was an important player in the early English violin school. He worked in London from 1743. One of his apprentices was John Betts who bought Duke’s shop after he died. Betts ran one of the two main London violin shops in the late 18th and early 19th C. Duke’s instruments are copies of Amati and Stainer violins.
